A NOS lacquer finish allows the two-piece select ash body to breathe and resonate with every note. Its 2A birdseye maple neck features a '60s-style "oval C" profile, a compound-radius rosewood fingerboard (9.5"-12") and 22 narrow, high frets (6105) for exceptional playability in all registers. Custom Shop '64 hand-wound pickups (with reverse-wound/reverse-polarity center pickup) are connected to a five-way switch and modified vintage #2 wiring with tone-saver bleed, which includes master volume, tone 1 (neck and center pickups) and tone 2 (bridge) with treble bleed (to preserve mids and attenuate highs without adding bass). Other specifications include a three-layer mint green pickguard, Custom Shop synchronized vintage tremolo, Sperzel® die-cast tuners with white pearl buttons, bone saddle and American Standard string bracing.
