An artisanal and eco-responsible process. From reed planting to packaging in flow-pack which protects reeds from variations in humidity, Vandoren masters all the stages of production of its famous reed strips. Cut by hand, the canes are carried on the back of a man on the edge of a reed bed. They are then stripped, sun-dried, dried, sawn, arrowed, tabbed, bevelled, ... No less than fifteen separate production stages which produce a considerable volume of reed waste which is reused as fertilizer for reed beds or as fuel for heating factory. Music at the service of ecology!
