Description

The R-10 is a passive mono ribbon microphone designed for studio and stage use. Handcrafted in our Burbank, California, facility, the R-10 is exceptionally rugged, handling sound pressure levels up to 160 dB at 1 kHz. Its compact size and mounting system allow for flexible and discreet positioning. The R-10's 2.5-micron aluminum ribbon element (same as the legendary R-121) is manufactured using our patented direct-corrugation process and is extremely well protected by a three-layer windscreen and an internal shock-mounted ribbon transducer. The R-10's integrated windscreen provides superior protection against air blasts and plosives, while reducing proximity effect (bass buildup when miking closely), making it easier to mike guitar cabinets and acoustic instruments. The internal shock-mounted ribbon transducer isolates the ribbon element from unwanted vibrations, reducing rumble and increasing its durability. The transducer is even wired for a humbucker to better reject electromagnetically induced noise!
