The WA-47 is a transformer-balanced, multi-directional (9) large diaphragm condenser tube microphone based on the classic ‘47 which has been used in many tubes over the past 50 years. The WA-47 is designed for professional studio, home studio, live and broadcast. It is ideally suited for recording voices, electric or acoustic instruments.
The Classic 47 became particularly popular as a vocal microphone in the 1960s and is now considered one of the best microphones ever made. It is still commonly used today in professional recording studios, but it is very rare and expensive. Warm Audio is proud to offer such a microphone at an affordable price and is confident that you will produce wonderful recordings with the WA-47.
The WA-47 uses a homemade reproduction of the vintage k47 capsule that was used in the classic ‘47, designed with the same drilling pattern and frequency response. All Warm Audio capsules are made in the same place in a clean room and packaged in their individual case until the moment of installation on the microphone. All capsules are inspected and electrically tested to avoid any imperfections.
Much of a microphone's sound comes from its capsule, and the capsule used in the WA-47 type k47 is not readily produced or typically found in affordable microphones. Warm Audio takes pride in using a faithful recreation of this unique component in an affordable microphone.
