IRIDIUM KEYBOARD
After presenting the Iridium as a high-end synthesizer in a compact desktop format, we're taking the concept one step further with the Iridium keyboard. It features an all-new 49-key FATAR TP/8SK semi-weighted polyphonic aftertouch keyboard, the first of its kind in the world, with an enlarged front panel offering one control knob per function to enhance workflow thanks to the palpable physical transformation of this high-end synthesizer, also enabling the use of six freely programmable Macro knobs with which users can define functions from a wide range of features for additional performance control.
Huge key changes are possible when playing the Iridium Keyboard live, as polyphonic aftertouch is transmitted individually for each note played. With its advanced modulation matrix, the Iridium Keyboard offers 40 distinct modulation assignments, each with independent parameters for source, intensity and destination. This gives it great flexibility in sound control. What's more, the Iridium Keyboard supports MPE data, enabling multiple parameters to be individually controlled for each note. This feature gives it the expressiveness of an acoustic instrument, offering spontaneous, polyphonic sound control.
Clearly, the physical dimensions of the Iridium keyboard have resulted in marked differences from the original Iridium desktop design, with a one-button-per-function control approach thanks to its naturally enlarged front panel, albeit aided by its highly responsive industrial-grade touchscreen to provide an interactive overview of the selected mode page, parameter changes and additional information.
Iridium keyboards contain 1680 sounds programmed by a group of renowned sound designers including: Howard Scarr, Richard Devine, Kurt Ader, BT, Matt Johnson, Reinhold Heil, Jörg Hüttner, Mike Huckaby, Thorsten Quaeschning and Sascha Dikiciyan.
