Questions frequently asked
Cordial Multipair Cable 8 Pairs 2X 0.22Mm - 35 M: can it be used to make an XLR snake?
The 8 pairs of conductors allow for eight balanced connections after termination. Each pair has its own shielding, complemented by an overall shield. Assembly can be done with XLR connectors.
What shielding is provided to reduce interference on this multipair cable?
The construction combines pair-by-pair shielding and overall shielding, with foil and drain wire. This configuration limits interference and hum in environments including power supplies, lighting, or motors.
What connectors are fitted at the ends?
No connectors are fitted on the spool ends, allowing termination with XLR, TRS jack, terminal blocks, or multipin connectors depending on the intended wiring.
What is the cable diameter for installation in cable trunking or racks?
The outer diameter is approximately 12.3 mm. The black PVC jacket facilitates routing in trunking, flight cases, and rack installations.
Is the 0.22 mm² section suitable for balanced audio connections?
A 0.22 mm² section is used on each twisted pair for audio connections, control, and stage return wiring. The tinned copper conductors have a resistance of 87 ohms per kilometer. The capacitance is 61 pF per meter between conductors.
