Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
This EVANS sizzler follows the line of sound accessories inspired by traditional solutions (rivets, chains), with a modern approach: achieving a vintage-typed sound while preserving the integrity of your equipment. This revised version captures the spirit of a classic ProMark and updates it with an articulated system focused on speed and flexibility.
Who This Drum/Sizzler for Cymbal Is For
Ideal for drummers of all levels who want to enrich their palette without changing cymbals. Perfect for jazz, blues, soul, pop, film music, or atmospheric passages in rock, whenever a more "breathy" sustain and a bright texture are desired, without permanent installation.
Features and Innovations
The articulated design facilitates changes in real situations: you attach the chain, remove it, and switch from a "dry" sound to a "sizzled" sound in seconds. The two included chains allow you to adjust the amount of vibration and chain noise to your playing style and cymbal.
Sound Characteristics
The sizzler adds a sparkling trail and a slight whisper reminiscent of riveted cymbals: the attack remains clear, while the sustain becomes longer, more textured, and more "airy." Depending on the chosen chain, the effect can range from a subtle coloration to a more pronounced sizzle, very musical on both ride and crash cymbals.
