The Classic Design CN Series: Nylon Spirit, Fender Comfort
With the Classic Design CN range, Fender offers a modern approach to nylon-string guitars: preserving the soft and expressive tone of nylon strings while adopting a more familiar ergonomics for players used to "folk-style" necks. The CN-140SCE follows this philosophy with a slim profile, smooth playability, and ready-to-use amplification.
Who Is It For and What Styles?
The CN-140SCE is designed for beginners as well as intermediate players looking for an easy nylon-string guitar, but it remains fully credible for an experienced musician in need of a comfortable electro-acoustic. It excels in fingerpicking, gentle accompaniment, bossa nova, pop, variety, Latin music, and any context where a rounder, less "bright" attack than a steel-string guitar is desired, with the convenience of simple amplification.
Sound Characteristics
The solid cedar top provides a naturally warm tone and a very sensitive response to nuances, ideal for fingerstyle and light attacks. The classical fan bracing promotes the flexibility and projection typical of nylon guitars. The laminated ovangkol back and sides complete the sound with a balanced output and a nice presence in the low-midrange, while the Concert Thinline format prioritizes comfort and precision without the bulk of a deeper body. Once plugged in, the Fishman Classic Design electronics allow quick EQ shaping to achieve a natural and stage-ready tone.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original feel and balance, prefer a set of tie-end nylon strings with the same gauge as the factory set: Fender 100 Nylon Classical Tie-End (.028-.043).

I wanted a cheap nylon string and cutaway guitar (considering my level) and am not disappointed by the value/price ratio.
It is delivered in a box in which there is a hard case (a key provided - a compartment to store for example, a set of strings, plectrum...).
Its table is still made of solid cedar, it is light (Thinline model, fine), has a tross rod (useful for changing the string tie rod).
The handle is relatively thin (not very wide) at head level, and you won't have a log between your fingers (thick).
For fretting, no frieze was observed.
The action (string height/neck) is low enough for comfortable playing.
I did not put it under the microscope, so I find the finishes very suitable, although I would prefer matt or even satin varnishes.
Having received it a day before its amp, of course, I tested it and what a surprise an hour or two later, to find that there is a battery provided for the preamp/tuner.
Once connected (I repeat, I am not a musician) with a few tone settings on the guitar and on the amp, I am very satisfied.
For a beginner, small level or low budget, I can only recommend it; a YT video is circulating where we see a guy getting the most out of it, and in addition, it is protected with its hard case.
Thank you Fender and Woodbrass for putting this “folk-classic” in your catalog;)Automatically translated
