The 1973 Stratocaster Character: Brightness, Precision, and Dynamics
Designed to capture the spirit of early 1970s Stratocasters, the Fender Pure Vintage '73 is a trio of pickups emphasizing clarity, attack, and note separation. In clean tones, you get that typical "snap" and well-defined harmonics; with pedals, the guitar maintains excellent clarity, perfect for funk rhythms, fusion licks, and expressive leads.
Who Is It For and Which Styles?
This set is aimed at guitarists seeking a responsive Strat comfortable with clean and slightly overdriven tones. If you want a very defined personality, sharp yet musical highs, and dynamics that follow every nuance of your playing (fingerstyle, pick, aggressive or softer attacks), these pickups provide an excellent foundation, both in the studio and on stage.
Pure Vintage Design: Material Fidelity and Modern Performance
Each pickup is wound to precise specifications, using Polysol wire for very clear highs and AlNiCo 5 magnets that deliver presence and responsiveness. Wax potting limits unwanted microphonics, while "old school" construction details (cloth sleeves, fiber bobbins) enhance the set's authenticity. Installation is made easier thanks to the included mounting accessories.
- The staggered pole pieces provide balanced volume and output level between each string.
- The reverse winding of the middle pickup reduces ground loops.
