A Guild-style dreadnought inspired by the 1960s
The D-150CE embodies the spirit of the great Guild Dreadnoughts: a refined aesthetic, a strong visual identity, and details that evoke the brand's historic models. Notably, it features the "Chesterfield" headstock shape and a Natural gloss finish that highlights the wood grain, along with a mother-of-pearl rosette and a "tortoiseshell" style pickguard for a very successful vintage touch.
For which guitarists and styles?
Thanks to its dreadnought format and solid wood construction, this guitar targets intermediate to advanced players seeking body, dynamics, and true sonic presence. It excels in strumming (accompaniment), folk, pop, acoustic rock, and country, while remaining comfortable for fingerpicking due to its balance. The cutaway is a real advantage if you play lead parts or chords high up on the neck.
Sound
The solid Sitka spruce top delivers a clear attack, excellent definition, and a wide dynamic range: it responds well to both soft playing and strong pick attacks. The solid rosewood back and sides enrich the spectrum with deep lows, bright highs, and generous harmonics, while enhancing sustain. The dreadnought body shape favors projection and volume, while the Guild Fishman AP1 electronics paired with the Sonicore pickup reproduce a natural and usable amplified sound, ideal for the stage.
