With the Nekromant, Hagstrom delivers a bass with an immediately recognizable look, perfectly balanced in playability, and designed to provide a large headroom. In this 4-string version, the formula combines warm mahogany luthiery with full active electronics, while retaining the option to play in passive mode to vary feel and attack.

The sound
The mahogany body provides a warm sonic foundation, rich in mids, with a nice sustain feel, while the mahogany set neck enhances vibrational continuity and stability. The Gehenna soapbar humbuckers deliver solid lows, muscular mids, and a controlled high end, while minimizing unwanted noise. The 3-band preamp (cut/boost) allows precise adjustment of the foundation, presence, and brightness, and the preamp gain helps tailor the output level according to your amp, playing style, or desired tone. The Active/Passive switch finally offers two approaches: surgical versatility in active mode, or a rawer, more direct response in passive.
