LINEAR 5 MKII: the new generation of a series that has become a reference

The HK Audio LINEAR 5 MKII series carries forward the DNA of the LINEAR 5 while deeply modernizing it. Designed and manufactured in Germany, this generation targets users who perform back-to-back gigs and seek a system that is both high-performing and pragmatic: a sound signature tailored for amplified music, faster setup, and a DSP platform designed to meet current demands (control, networking, optimization). The notable evolution in this MKII version is the arrival of a remotely controllable DSP, paving the way for centralized management of settings and configurations, including in multi-speaker environments.

A sound system pack for DJs, bars, and events: clean sound, solid bass, efficient installation

The Linear 5 MKII Lounge Pack is aimed at mobile DJs, clubs, music bars, and providers who want a coherent active system capable of delivering an elegant atmosphere as well as a more energetic evening. The 2.1 configuration (satellites + sub) maintains clarity in vocals and synths while delegating the low end to the subwoofer: the result is a clearer mix and better dynamic headroom, even as the room fills up.

Thanks to the supplied protective covers, the pack is also suitable for intensive use: repeated loading, storage, transport, and installation in real conditions (bars, covered terraces, private events).

MKII Technologies: DSP, networking, and bass optimization

The LINEAR 5 MKII series emphasizes control and flexibility. The built-in DSP can be remotely controlled via dedicated software over an Ethernet connection. This facilitates on-site adjustments (tonal balance, levels, room adaptation) and allows for more structured network management, useful when multiple sound points are involved.

During events, being able to centralize settings can save valuable time: maintaining consistency between speakers, recalling a configuration, and finely tuning the output according to the acoustics. HK Audio has also planned for integrating non-DSP speakers into the network to build hybrid systems without starting from scratch.

Subwoofers designed for cardioid configurations

To optimize bass coverage, two new subwoofers were developed for this generation, with presets enabling use in cardioid mode. This approach helps better control bass energy depending on the setup by limiting rear radiation and improving comfort on stage or behind the system, while maintaining impact on the audience side.
