Please note: this Launchpad Pro MK3 is offered as B-stock. The description below outlines the features of the new model. For this particular unit, the availability of software licences and associated offers should be checked before purchase.
A Pro generation designed for standalone composition
The Novation Launchpad Pro MK3 expands the role of the pad controller: it is not only used to trigger clips, but also becomes a composition and MIDI control tool. This generation focuses on enhanced integration with Ableton Live, larger and more responsive pads, and an ultra-slim design.
Its major development is the four-track standalone polyphonic sequencer. You can build your patterns, develop them and organise their playback sequence without systematically relying on a computer. This approach brings working in software closer to playing hardware instruments.
For producers, beatmakers and live musicians
This pad-based MIDI controller is aimed at musicians who want to play their ideas rather than draw them on screen. In a home studio, it makes rhythm programming, chord exploration and clip organisation easier. On stage, its dedicated controls let you stay in control of the track’s progress and playing variations.
It also fits naturally at the centre of a setup combining synthesizers, drum machines and software. Its operation with or without a computer allows you to maintain a similar approach between preparing sequences in the studio and performing them live.
Controls designed to keep your ideas moving
Ableton Live at your fingertips
Integration with Ableton Live provides access to clip and scene launching, the mixer, devices and transport controls. Quantise, duplicate and double-time controls eliminate constant trips back to the mouse. You can stay focused on listening and building the track.
Direct access to MIDI Capture lets you retrieve an idea played in Ableton Live without having started recording beforehand, when the conditions for this function are met. This is particularly useful when an interesting pattern emerges during a simple sound search.
A sequencer for building and transforming your patterns
The built-in sequencer offers four 32-step polyphonic tracks. It can sequence virtual instruments, transfer patterns to Ableton Live clips or control external MIDI devices. Patterns can be chained together and associated with scenes to develop longer structures.
The Probability, Mutation, Sync Rate and Play Order functions add movement to sequences. They let you work with trigger probability, generate variations, change the playback speed or alter the order of the steps. This allows a loop to evolve while playing without starting from scratch.
An expressive grid for rhythms and harmonies
The pads respond to velocity and pressure to convey the nuances of your playing. They are equally suited to groove programming and clip triggering. Scale mode limits notes to the selected scale, while Chord mode makes it easier to explore chords and build harmonies.
Configurations suited to your equipment
With Novation Components, you can create your control layouts using drag and drop and save up to eight custom modes. These configurations allow you to control MIDI-compatible software and devices, including simultaneously, depending on the assignments and connections used.
The MIDI In, Out and Out 2/Thru ports on 3.5 mm mini-jacks make it easy to integrate the unit into a hardware setup. The Easy Start Tool assists with the initial setup, helping you adapt the workflow to your production environment.
