An Ovation Bass Designed for Modern Amplification
With its Lyrachord body in Mid-depth GS format and "Black Textured" aesthetic, the Elite TX fits within the DNA of Ovation instruments designed to offer a stable, homogeneous, and highly usable sound once plugged in. The lutherie (solid top and profiled X bracing) aims for an effective balance between acoustic dynamics and control of the low end, particularly useful on an electro-acoustic bass.
For Which Bassists and Styles?
This electro-acoustic bass is intended for intermediate to advanced bassists seeking a comfortable, reliable instrument ready for the stage. It is well suited for pop, acoustic rock, folk, worship contexts and "unplugged" sets where fingerstyle and pick playing alternate. The cutaway also helps bassists who incorporate more melodic lines, fills, and passages high up on the neck.
The Sound
The solid Sitka spruce top provides clarity, attack, and a great dynamic range, while the profiled X bracing promotes note responsiveness and stability. The Lyrachord body in Mid-depth GS format contributes to a more controlled low end and excellent consistency from place to place, a real asset in amplification. When plugged in, the combination of OCP-1K pickup and OP-Pro preamp delivers a precise and defined sound, with a convenient built-in tuner for quick onstage changes.
