An "A-style" Design Inspired by Classic Traditional Mandolins

The A-1 Select Sunburst follows the spirit of "A-style" mandolins: a sleek and efficient silhouette designed for projection and note clarity. The F-holes enhance dynamics and percussive character, while the Vintage Sunburst finish highlights the classic style expected on this type of instrument.

For Which Musicians and Styles?

This mandolin is well suited for beginner to intermediate musicians seeking an expressive and easy-to-adjust instrument, offering a quick response under the fingers. Its bright and precise character makes it comfortable in bluegrass, folk, country, and traditional music, with good definition in pick playing, both in chords and melody.

Sound Characteristics

The spruce top provides clarity, attack, and great sensitivity to nuances: the more delicately you play, the more the instrument responds. The maple back and sides promote a bright, well-focused tone with clear separation of double strings, especially appreciated for fast runs. The F-holes enhance projection and impact, and the height-adjustable bridge allows action adjustment to find the right balance between comfort, volume, and precision. The Purple Heart fingerboard and bridge add firmness and crisp articulation, useful for keeping notes well "outlined" in an acoustic mix.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To complete your setup, you can add a chromatic tuner, an instrument stand, and a set of picks (various thicknesses) to refine attack and comfort. Since the instrument comes with a case, you are already equipped for transport and storage.
